Surprise: CPU soldered to board!

I researched my MOBO, piked a nice Athlon XP 2400+ to install, ordered one from Austin Computer Works, and then checked the board. The Duron 1.3 is soldered directly into the board, much to my amazement. Now I have to buy another old MOBO to use with this chip, or else buy a whole new PC, but then my HDs and DVD/CDROMs are all PATA, so I am locked into the old style MOBO.

Word to the wise: check your existing chip before buying an upgrade.
