Don't mind if the BIOS says it's a Pentium 2 CPU allthough a Pentium III is installed.
Also, some Pentium III CPUs are recognized as "Pentium Pro" with usually 500MHz (no matter what the real Speed is)..

never mind...don't be confused by this! it does still work fine and at the Speed written on your CPU. You can use CPU-Z or Everest to verify this.

my Pentium III 650 (Coppermine, 100MHz FSB, 256KB, SL3KV) is recognized by the bios as a Pentium II 500MHz or sometimes as a Pentium Pro 500MHz.
But CPU-Z and Everest tell the truth... PIII 650 Coppermine running at 650MHz :)
