April 21, 2013 - I updated design of all CPU support pages. I
tried to make it look more modern, and at the same time keep it
simple, and similar to the old one. Pages are now optimized for
1024x768 resolution, rather than 800x600. It is now possible to limit
a list of boards on manufacturers pages to any one socket. CPU support
pages now include a summary of all supported processors, like
minimum and maximum frequency, cache size and TDP. Motherboard chart
now includes more models. Be aware that the re-design is not
complete yet! All pages will switch to the new design within the
next couple of weeks.
February 25, 2013 - Although the main goal behind CPU-Upgrade was to provide CPU support information for as many motherboards as possible, the site does have full specifications for more than 350 motherboards, and partial specifications for 1700+ boards. Some of this data is now available in the motherboard chart, which should be useful for locating motherboards with specific socket, chipset or form factor. Currently it contains Biostar and MSI boards, and boards from other manufacturers will be added in the future. February 17, 2012 - Site search tool now supports several new features. You can limit the search to complete words by enclosing search text into quotes. The tool also supports excluding pages, containing certain words. Search snippets are now more relevant, and they should always contain at least one search string in them. I also removed the limitation of 200 returned results, and changed the script to break results into multiple pages. November 24, 2012 - I've made a few improvements to the motherboard name search. It is now possible to look for manufacturer name in addition to motherboard model. The search also supports several advanced features, such as matching exact word or phrase, and excluding from results all board names, that match certain words. More details are available on the search page. September 4, 2012 - I changed the recent comments links on the front page, so that each link now goes directly to the comment, rather than to the top of the page, where the comment was posted. This doesn't work yet for pages, that have very large number of posts, like ASUS A8M2N-LA. Comment posting page was tweaked a bit, and, if you have javascript enabled, it now shows help text for individual fields. September 27, 2011 - it is now possible to reply to comments. and the replies will always be displayed right under the parent post. To reply to any comment, move your mouse cursor over the post, and a "Reply" button will popup in the upper right corner of the comment title. Click on the "Reply" button to respond to that comment. This week I may tweak this feature a bit, but there won't be any major changes to the comment system in the near future. April 18, 2011 - I started adding detailed specifications to Gigabyte motherboards. Like for ASUS boards, the specs will be added little by little, until all of them are complete. Once we get close to a hundred of motherboards with complete specifications, I will begin working on the next step, which will be a search page for specific motherboard feature(s). April 16, 2011 - Manufacturer pages now show motherboard chipset, and a list of supported processors for each board. Unfortunately, this makes the pages at least twice as long as before. To rectify this, I'm planning to add filtering capabilities to manufacturer pages in the near future. March 22, 2011 - I added more detailed specifications to some ASUS motherboard pages. The specifications show mainboard form factor, supported FSB, features, expansion slots, back panel and internal connectors, and on-board interfaces. As an example, see how it look on the ASUS P4P800S page. The specifications are not complete yet, and I'll be adding missing information in the course of next few days (or weeks). If this data turns out to be useful for site visitors, then I'll start adding board specifications for other manufacturers. March 16, 2011 - CPU support pages, that show data for multiple PCBs, now have a filter that can limits displayed records only to specific PCB revision. See, for example, how it looks on the ASUS P5QL-VM EPU page. Clicking on the "ALL" link resets the filter, and displays all PCB revisions. August 1, 2010 - We now have Recently added pages web page. It will shows all new pages added to the site, and the dates when they were added. | |
